EBH has got good form

HIs tactical decision-making is a bit questionable.

Bursts away in the final 2 kms of MSR

With a very opportunistic GvA on his rear wheel

Then also chases Etixx's vandenBergh and GvA, I think, just up Paterberg about an hour out from the white chalk.

Hope he can sit in a bit more and be in greater contention for the finalé.

GO SAGZ

GO DIDATA

Now...Who wil 2016's victor be...

My heart says Tomekke but my head says Spartacus,Sagan or GvA.

Farrar.... Jokes.

I'd like to think EBH and Haussler would be up there for the final selection as a dark horse choice. They're both had form but I think EBH peaked too early.

Boonan hasn't really done much all season (except not crash in the last 3 weeks).

Second rung fav's have to be: Kristoff, Benoot, Rowe, Thomas, Stannard

Front runners are inform'rs, recent winners and old legends: Sparticus, Sagan, Kwiatowski, GVA,

Final note, despite having a mass of talent as usual, EQS don't seem to have anyone flying with that X factor. Terpsta isn't on form, Boonan has been MIA really, Stybar has been about but not featured and so on. That said it's what every Belgian rider lives for so dismiss anyone in that team or even the grieving Wanty-Goubert Team (they will be riding on pure emotion & bigger fairy tails have happened) at your peril.

Agreed.

Outside of the obvious Sagan and Cancellara, and maybe GVA (and we mustn't forget Vanmarcke too!) I think the black sheep team has to be Sky.

'G' is back. Then we have Rowe and Stannard - both in with a good shout. And of course, Kwiatkowski has to be a major favourite.

Along with the support of Michal Golas, Christian Knees, Gianni Moscon, and Salvatore Puccio, this is a very strong team.

And their tactics seem to be very different to their 'Skyborg' power metre tactics of the past. They made all the big plays at MSR - I thought they were brilliant that day. And they haven't stopped - they're playing a very aggressive tactical game these days in the classics. I like what I see.

I expect to see a lot of Sky on the front come Sunday.

Take another look at my diagram of the finale.

There is a critical stretch between the Taaienberg (15) and the final ascent of the Kwaremont (17) which will be in the cross winds.

Because of the cross winds over those exposed fields and small twisty lanes, this is a great section to force a selection and mess up the well laid plans of others who are hoping to wait for the final attack up the Paterberg.

I'm sure certain teams are looking closely at this stretch - i.e. sending off 1 or 2 support riders on a breakaway so that they're waiting for their leader when they bridge across by the Paterberg. And if the leader doesn't make it across then at least they still have an iron in the fire for the finale.

I expect teams like Lotto-Soudal and Sky to be aggressive here.

Either way, for me the Taaienberg is going to be a very important moment in the race.

I was just about to ask why no one thinks he is in with a sniff...

He racked me up some good point (Velogame Fantasy) in Gent coming second. I'm yet to make a transfer but that will have to wait till next week, I'm happy with what my guys have done in the first four races so they all earn their spot again, even though 4 aren't riding RVV
