Capricorn Posted January 26, 2016 Share i dont know why you got slapped so hard, but the tariff's clearly state 25% on helmets. Lexx, what's the story with this discrepancy between with the latest tariff schedules say, and what actually gets charged?

V12man Posted January 26, 2016 Share Counted as clothing. If it's marked as safety equipment then duties are zero - but cannot be included with anything else to get away with that. Captain Fastbastard Mayhem

Or, at least, how the SARS rep interprets and applies the categories... Lexx Posted January 26, 2016 Share Remember, it says 25% duties payable because its under General, but then remember there is also VAT +ATV ATTACHED. Thats why its 40% Captain Fastbastard Mayhem, Capricorn and Rudi33
Lexx Posted January 26, 2016 Share Yeah - I think a lot depends on just how it's described in the invoice. Or, at least, how the SARS rep interprets and applies the categories... Nope, there is a Tarrif code for every single thing in the world. So we work only on the tarrif codes and duties applicable. If there is a query with a tarrif heading and we cant agree, then it goes to our Tarrif specialist and they decide on it...
