Wooden rims. (If you think about it, they were made from "fresh" carbon fibre) Beautiful little mudguard. B.t.w. those white-walls are tubbies.

Sorry, I don't have a drive-train picture from the other side. Wing nuts with a flip flop rear wheel and a chain tensioner. Two gears! Cutting edge!

From a much later era, but just to demonstrate why Colnago always walks away with the world championship medal for paint jobs. This from the top tube of an Art Décor!

Absolutely cracker event. Will be back next year and the next. The scenery on the 140km is magnificent, I'm sure all of the routes are.

If you are thinking about doing it next year, then do it

Here are some pictures from my Eroica experience. I did the 140 km with my brother Deon. We loved every moment of it and will definitely be back next year.

With the legend himself

Nice Eppie

Did you drive in and out?

Didn't see you at all.

An absolutely cracker event.

Other than a couple of tiny teething problems, it ranks for me as better than Eroica Britannia. In the UK I was a foreigner, in Montagu I was riding with old and new friends.

Thanks Stan, a job well done and good to meet all my NEW friends.

Yes we did and I had a quick chat to you just before the start when I admired those imported tyres on your bike.

Oh damn, now I know what my next n + 1 purchase is going to be. Can see the wifie throwing her hands up in despair.

Probably the only event these days where a modern helmet is actually properly frowned on!
