I am in the market for a decent light. Requirements as follows

 

No external battery, would prefer a single unit with a rechargeable and replaceable battery.

Light up at least 100m in front of me, preferably a bit more.

 

I have been looking at the BriteSA range, specifically the F007T and the F041T (http://britesa.co.za/gallery.htm). has anybody had any experience with them?

 

If not those two, could anyone recommend a decent light in the R700 range that would work?

Nothing self contained exists at that price point.

 

Exposure lights are really good but you going to have to up the budget substantially

Do not think self conained units will be bright enough for 100m AND last for more than 30 min

 

I have extreme lights X3 but as per previous comment is much more expensive (~3x)

So what is the best bang for buck Self Contained light at the moment?

as mentioned, don't think you will find a self contained light for R700.

 

If you are keen on going for something with an external battery, then there is a guy in Hillcrest, Craig I think... that has a few different lights for sale. He usually advertises on here but I don't see any of his ad's at the moment.

 

Using the 1600L, zoom light from him and it works great. Think it was R650 or so.

I have a Serfas True 750 Lumens - single unit - very bright, but then the battery only lasts max 2 hrs. At a lessor setting I got almost 4 hrs from it. R1 500 though..

Exposure MK10. About 115g, 700lumens and good for both helmet and handle bar. Way outside your budget though at around R3k.

Have a look at the Ryder range of lights.I have the Crux250,really good bang for buck.You can also look at the Alumia600,should fall in youre price range.
