This looks like a good option, how easy was it to install?

Dead simple. If you can change a shifter cable you can install this dropper. The hardest part was adjusting the cable. There are two little grub screws that hold the cable in the lever and they rounded out literally like the second time I tried to adjust them so I went fishing through my jar of screws and made two new ones. They're ugly and I had to grind the heads smaller to allow them to sit side by side but they're much stronger and won't round out any time soon. Grinding machine screws shorter is a pain though but once you get the technique down it gets easier. If I'd been willing to go buy something I could have made it prettier but I didn't feel like getting in my car. These grub screws are the worst part of this dropper but they're easily replaced.

Why not just buy a Tmars from Eddy Gordo?

I don't see the add up anymore but I think he's still has some for sale.

Paid R1200 for mine I think it was about 8 or so months ago and its been flawless so far.

Best to pm him and ask

I bought his last 27.2/30.9. He might have some 31.6-s.

I'm looking for a 440mm long dropper...

I see the FUNN one at R2900  with 110mm drop looks like it may be an option.

Anyone have any feed back there?

  • 2 months later...

I have one of these. http://cyclefactory.co.za/forca-dropper-post/ Its not completely without its problems but its been reliable and I've yet to service it. It does develop a bit of play but honestly it doesn't bug me that much. Its totally worth it though. Love my dropper. If I didn't need 27.2 I probably would have bought something different since there are a bunch of 30ish droppers under 3K but at 27.2 your options are limited. At some point I know this dropper will probably die and be irreparable. But honestly I can buy almost 3 of these before I get to the price of a ks lev and by that time I will probably have changed my frame and so will be able to consider more options.

What do you mean by a bit of play?

Does the seat post become lose in the mounting?

It looks very similar to the Tmars post which I have. The seat moves slightly from side to side. It can be annoying at times, but for the price I paid for the dropper, I'll live with it.
