Looking for a great bike

Hi all,

I was hoping you could provide some assistance. I am in the market for a great entry level bike. I was pointed in the direction of the silverback sola 3 2016. Is it a good bike and/or is there something better you guys would recommend? Range between 10k and R13k.

If you're open to a second hand bike you'll find a lot of bike for that money... and a lot that have been hardly ridden.

The Silverback has deore/slx components which are good but nice to have more xt components.

 

Browse the classifieds here as you will get better value than buying new.

Here i have made it easy for you to browse the dual sus bike...they are all in Gauteng and under 15k....

 

 

Look for the bike you like then go read the reviews on the interweb, look up the components....that way you get a better understanding of what you are buying

I think the Giant and Santa Cruz brands are good value for money options.

As said above, for that amount you'd find good second hand bikes. Shimano SLX / Sram X7 or if searching some more XT / X9. Don't go less than SLX/X7, bu try to get XT or X9. Wheels are going to be avg in that range, but you can always upgrade later on. Merida, Silverback, Giant, Scott, Trek etc - all good value I'd say. Going to get much more bike if you buy 2nd hand.
