I wouldn't be as bold as to state "False" :whistling:

The only reason you not popping wheelies is because your saddle is slammed as far forward as possible. If you ran a middle to aft position or even a setback post and had to ride up a "steep climb" as in +15% you will have your nose on the stem trying to keep that bad boy from rearing up on you. (Trust me I know :cursing:)

But why would you do that then? :P

You should be perfectly fine running a 130mm A2C but if its worrying you you could always use a angle headset to steepen the head angle.

140mm is overkill in my mind with 100mm out back.

If you don't mine me asking: What's your weight and riding style/level?

I know Greg Minn often runs more travel than the recommended max on his bikes. Tallboy 2 130mm, Nomad 170mm, Hightower 29er 160mm and no offense but I don't think you going to be riding like him eg:(25m Tabletops on 130mm travel bikes) :whistling:  so you should be fine.

Yea there's only one GM ... Weigh 75kg ..do

Ike to ride rough terrain rocks etc,but as far as drops go the pallet drop at hakahana had me puckering. But don't ride that stuff anymore . Hence the tb purchase.

But do like little drops & small jumps and rock gardens and fun fast single track. But again don't get to ride them very often. So no nothing hectic at all.

Did vg for the first in December over 3 days and loved it can't see me doing more than that .

GM weighs 85kg I think doesn't he ? My home trail is thaba that's where I do a lot of my technical riding if you can call it that .

You will be fine then. Yip GM is around 85kg.

I have seen him thrash his bikes hard and never had a headset issue. SC is one brand that don't skimp in the carbon department. Frames might be a little heavier than the competition but never seen one with a crack from riding and I've seen my fair share of cracked frames.

Is GM tallboy a stock frame. I know they build special larger bikes for his height when he races. So would his tb be a 2 and an off the shelf frame?

The statement Is true for me though I realise probably not in general.

Ps, I pop wheelies all the time! ;)  The fit is 100% for me, I wouldn't run a setback post like you mention as that would then not fit me anymore...

The tallboy is my trail and xc/marathon bike. I have done 70km races in total comfort, so I know my fit is good, and my local playground is TM so I'm familiar with steep terrain, also fine. And on the descents... flattering.

And you have had no issue with frame running that fork? Who many Km's would you guess you have done like that.

Good news.

Yeah, but if the forward slammed saddle helps then why shift it backwards, or use a setback seatpost, etc?

Because I have an upper body with arms and I don't like sitting upright like a flag pole on the. :whistling: ^_^

I'm a racing snake so when you running your bar 12cm below your saddle with a 100mm stem and it feels like its under your chest there's only one thing to do.

I run a straight post with my saddle nearly all the way back and a 120mm Fork up front and on very steep stuff the front likes to lift a bit. But then it might just be to much power going through the cranks  :D .

Yes all his bikes except his last two V10's are stock frames(XL) custom paint. V10 is a XXL with and angleset to slacken it a bit more. GM finds it mare stable.

I would need sucidal tendencies for that ... I like it plush what can I say . Prepared to suffer speed for comfort .

Must be too much power! I'm weak but light, so I make my time on climbs and descents :D

Perhaps you should consider one of these to put all that power to the ground
