Used them on my aluminum rims as they tend not to pick up the aluminium splinters like the Shimano pads. When I added carbon rims to the mix I kept the pads on and have been happy with them. Maybe wear a bit quicker on the carbon rims but brake well and are a fraction of the cost of the SwissStop.
