Great game, thanks Gerald as always. Chapeau!

Yeah, interesting that the Giro is a completely different beast than the Tour. Different dynamics entirely.

Gerald, are you going to give us some analysis into the breakdown of how points were scored etc? Like riders with the most points in total, a breakdown of where they scored their points, contribution of breakaways finishing ahead of the pack?

Yes, will give as much as I can give from the info I have.

Thanks for playing, as this was a trial for the Tour and then also the Grand Tours going forward.

With 10 points awarded for each person in the break, it can make a break a position or two, but won't help propel you up the table. It require a bit a manual work, and I'll discuss this with Admin/Nick before deciding to include it for the remaining Grand Tours (Tour & Vuelta).

Below are some stats for the best performing riders, with the top 12 as the dream team:

Here is how you would have had to pick and sub the dream team:

In the first week, 5 riders didn't score points. SK and TW would have had to be picked for the other 3 riders to be eligible to score points in week 2.

Hindsight is a wonderful tool.

I did not know to win you had to choose guys that do not retire mid race..but there's always next year

I see my position could have improved with breakaways, I could have been 18th

If you see above, it is possible to outscore everyone, with riders pulling out. The question is to know who could possibly pull out, and when.

Giro - Sprinters preparing for the Tour.
Vuelta - One-day specialist preparing for Worlds

Get this mix right, plus including the right U25 rider (White) and you're good to go.

Having Jungels would have made a big difference for me... problem is that he would have replaced someone on the team, probably Uran. And I still would have fallen short by 169 points. A lot of "what if's?"

Gerald and admin, thanks for all the immense effort you guys put in. much appreciated.

"Just wish I could take my Giro form in to the Tour......" Sound familiar? Seriously though, I topped last years Velogames Giro fantasy game too but ended in the bottom of the Tour. all fun and games though.

Well done boet!

Can you please stop rubbing it in that I took Jungles out of my team at the last minute.
