tombeej Posted May 6, 2016 Posted May 6, 2016 Great time by Kittel hey Ja, I had him as a bit of a dark horse for the TT today, considering that he'd be going full gas for a time that might set him up for the maglia rosa tomorrow. As a junior, Kittel was always supposed to become a TT specialist. He signed as a pro as a TT rider and only became a sprinter when his team at the time (Skil-Shimano) decided to experiment with him as a sprinter in a few minor races. The rest, as they say, is history. Here's a look at his junior TT career: Two-time World Junior Time Trial Champion (2005 & 2006). Multiple National Junior and European U-23 Time Trial Champion. 2009: 4th in the World U-23 Time Trial Championships.2010: 3rd in the World U-23 Time Trial Championships. So today's performance shouldn't be too surprising.
