Hey Naas, Beers from Napier Brewery?

You can say so...:)

Napier Brewery had a partner shakeup - don't exist anymore...one guy moved to Hermanus and continued under the name of Hermanus Brewery, they will be there.

  • 2 weeks later...

Naas dit was excellent! Worth getting up at 4am and driving 200km for. Loved it and will be back. Route was pristine and well marked. I rode the whole thing nonstop, never needed to get off my bike.

Pity entryninja messed up my timing, I did the 55K in 3h15 but they gave me the time my dad took for the 45K which was 4:27

I suffered on the 45. Also did 3:15. It didn't help that my shifter stopped working properly, so the last 15 km's I had to ride in ss mode.

Attended this race 2 years ago and promised myself I wouldn't bother again... But as we were going to be in the region this weekend, I gave it another go.

The routes are awesome - unfortunately, the organising, and more specifically the entry and timing process, kills it all for me. It is simply unacceptable to have an entry process where you enter online the previous day, and then not have a number allocated and have to stand in the queue for on the day entries. It is unacceptable to have to be asked whether you have already paid or not - do you have no record of payments made?? It is unacceptable for entrants to the 60km route to still have to be in a queue to enter / register at 8am when they are supposed to start already.

So despite the great routes and great initiative, I won't be coming again until such time PPA and racetec get involved. I do hope these issues can be sorted out, as the event combined with the Patatfees has so much potential.

I would have prefered PPA&Racetec too.

Previously at the Darling Extreme MTB I was impressed with EntryNinja, but today they were very bad. I had find the guy with the scanner at the end, not the otherway round.

Amarider and Racetec do a much better job of timing.

Still I really enjoyed this and will be back again.

We welcome all feedback, thank you. Your comments , along with all others, will be discussed in detail at our post morten. The race/event is in a re-building phase and I feel good progress have been made the last 2 years. Personally I won't let registration issues, and by the way, I agree with you and will certainly take it up with Entryninja, keep me away as for the rest, the event was top notch...at least that 's what the overwhelming response is sofar - thanx for  your support!, Naas

Exactly why it was an issue, because you as organizer dont see it as an important thing hence why it was below par. Whats big to one person is not to another.
