Based on online reviews I ordered Plantronics BackBeat Fit. Around a grand. Waiting for delivery so can't comment on personal experience, but Plantronics are well known and established in the earphone industry....

I heard on the radio a few weeks ago they were talking about a set of Bluetooth ear buds that mould to your ear and even pick up your heart rate ,so no need for HR strap.

I don't remember the price or make bot they were pricy.

The Plantronics BackBeat FIT Wireless Bluetooth Headset are sweatproof, but at R1300 are a bit over your budget.

I just bought the body glove ear phones from sportsmans warehouse - R650 (less the 25% discount from discovery), essentially just to test the waters for running and I am super impressed - looked at the above options which where a bit too expensive if they didn't work...

Looking for some recommendations please. Looking at the Under a Grand range ideally. Thanx!

There can be only one Bluetooth earphone... Jaybird X2

Won't cost you under a grand, but will outlast 4 cheapies.

Philips Airborn SHQ7300 - R1,000 from Dion Wired

I asked if they were wireless DW said yes, I told them they shouldn't be selling them then.

Work nice, sound fine, & they meet the cheap criteria.

Are you sure you will be getting the 25% back? On the website, those headphones aren't a vitality eligible item.

I have a pair of RokR's that were under R500. They ok, battery lasts about 4 hours before needing a charge. Has built in mic and volume control. Charge via micro USB. I say ok because my other earphones are my traveling Bose QC25's and you cannot compare the two.

I had an issue when using my Suunto Ambit 3 with them as the watch uses a BLT HR strap there was constant connecting and disconnecting. But I'm using a Fenix 3 now and they work 100% now.

Regarding the in ear HR. I'm not convinced as I hardly ever have my earphones in for an entire exercise session. Now I would be forced to keep them in my ear for the whole exercise.
