I have the same problem with the clicking sound. No amount of adjustment takes it away. Has done it from new. Chain and sprocket gets cleaned regularly and cables and housing were new when the conversion was done

Take it back to your LBS  :whistling:

I understand what you're talking about because my Dura Ace behaves the same way.

He said when he does that then the shifting in the other sprockets is rubbish.

Also, when he turns the barrel adjuster he needs a whole turn before he feels adjustment - typically one only needs to rotate the barrel 60degrees to achieve a meaningful and noticeable adjustment.

Its unlikely the cassette.

If it was compression in the cable housing then he would have bad shifting starting from the 15T to the 17T and progressively worse from there till the housing compression stops. that does not appear to be the case.

I wouldn't rule it out but without the bike in front of me its hard to nail it down to one thing.

Shifter could have a damaged ratchet for that position and that's enough to throw just one sprockets positioning off.

Kink in the shifting cable or hangar alignment?

either of those would cause a problem to build up and then deteriorate from there. they would create aproblem in one position only and then re-align either side of that Unless we 're not getting an accurate description of the problem...

Ditto here on 105 11speed. Third from bottom is rackety, the smallest two less so... i've put it down to chain line. But then i have a whole 'nuther chainring to play with  :w00t:

I am seriously starting to believe that this is the problem

I run the XT M8000 on a 2x11 setup. It works perfectly.

Eldron had a good point about the direction the sprocket faces.

Another thing to check is the distance between the guide pulley and the largest sprocket. Sometimes that gap is too small or large and can cause some issues. The gap should be 5-6mm.

I doubt that indexing is the issue because it would affect all the changes from on to another gear.

I have checked thanks everyone . The sprocket is on correctly , the space between largest sprocket and pulley wheel is 6mm . The cables arent kinked , the derailleur hanger is 100% straight . I guess it will have to be up to Shimano to sort it out as its only a week old (shifter , derailleur , cassette and chain)

Take it back!

You cannot put a sprocket on the wrong way, the unique grooves in the sprocket make it impossible.

I have a 11x2 and there are gears that are smoother than others, the tolerances are very fine on 11 speed. The chainline has alot of distance to cover

Not sure how bad this noise is,but I regularly change my inner and outer Cables, a bit of sand or whatever does affect it

The noise is mildly irritating depending on were you are riding. I am going to try putting in some spacers between the front chain ring and crank arm to improve the chain line. I have done around 900km so the chain and cassette should have bedded in by now. I will also remove the cassette and make sure it is properly cleaned. I will also check the pawl springs in the free hub to rule that out as well

Turn the crank slowly and check if the chain isn't lightly catching on one of the Neighbour-cog teeth. Then micro adjust the mech. Was my issue with m8000.

Your chain ring must be directly in line with the sixth sprocket. Meaning the chain should be dead straight on this sprocket. If you don't do this you end up having too much chain flex on the opposite extreme.

Or micro adjust with a file......

It is more likely to be catching on the shift ramp. Check the chain too. If unidirectional make sure it is fitted right. Also check your joining pin was not pressed in too far and that the other end broke off smoothly (if you used a pin). If a quicklink was used make sure it was a 11spd link and does not sit proud of the other links.
