Uhm no. Knobs are the problem on the road, no matter what their preferred method of locomotion.

True but on a road you can get 6 knobs in the same space without a car, Roadie, Mtb, jogger, walker, pram pusher and rollerblader all being lekker.  One knob in a car ruins it for all the other knobs.

Do we have T-shirt printers on The Hub? You may use my phrase, if I get the first shirt off the line (is this being too entitled?)

Great article on News24... well written and balanced.

Someone from the cycling community needs to correct these inconsiderate Cyclists and put things back in perspective... the thought of a Cyclist forcing my 60 year old Mother (or Father) off of the SideWALK makes me sick!

The pavement being a path should have the same rules as the Trail

MTB Right of Way on Trails

1. Animals (Dogs, Horses, wild Animals)
2. People (Walking)
   a. Elderly people (out of respect )
   b. Children (<13) (because they are unpredictable and don’t have a sense of responsibility)
   c. Adults

3. People Jogging

4. Cyclists
   a. Children (because they are learning, they’re unstable, and unpredictable)
   b. Adults
   c. People Pushing their bikes (if you are pushing your bike you are not considered a walker, and you should give way to people riding their bikes)

On a two-way hill the person going down the hill should yield to the person going up the hill

5. Motorbikes and QuadBikes

NOTE: all of the above have to give way to Tanks and Aircraft-Carries...

Very good article...

The biggest problem, IMO, is the sense of entitlement we all seem to harbor when using any form of transport. If I'm on my 600k super carbon lighting bike, who is this mere peasant walking on the side walk? I can ride where and how I like.

Thats just BS and someone is going to get hurt....badly.

We all have to share the roads, no getting away from that. The pedestrian and the window shopper cannot walk in the middle of the road and achieve their goal... Yes they do walk in the road, but with a pelaton on teh pavement, where DO we want them to walk? come on

Yes the road works are a nuisance, yes they do interfere with your super cool strava stats, but deal with it like a reasonable road user. find another route, plan better, ride different times. MAKE A PLAN - and getting on a sidewalk is not a plan - its called being a Dooz.

What will happen when Mr cyclist gets knocked off his bike whilst riding on the sidewalk? Are we going to blame the pedestrians?

Like Myles said earlier - Don't be a dick.
