You know this is going to be a multiple page thread and I'm sure there are going to be mixed views. Can a person have popcorn before 7?

I know, thats what i want cos I have been thinking way too much lately and maybe clouding my own judgement....I am not saying I am going to leave, and don't want anyone to jump on and attack....this is apurely a request to ask : what are your own feelings about, fuel, interest rates, property prices, your own safetly, the chances that taxi driver might actually get brains one day?  Those types of things.... even AIDS...??  Of course you can ahve popcorn before 7

I think it all could have been worse. As I spoke to friends who left the country to live in other countries, "it is always greener on the other side of the fence"

The longer we stay, work through everything, the more positive I get.

And for those who is gonna say "You have never been striken with crime"

Yes, I have been involved in that side of the country, from something petty like a cell stolen from my office to murder and rape. And still I feel strong about SA and will not leave.

Maybe I'm from the old school who likes my country and my loyalty is with SA, or maybe it is because I am ex soldier who were taught to be loyal to your country.

I see some light in the end of the tunnel, small, but some.....

If you wanne go, go and get out of here. If you wanne stay, stay. This country is great and i'm staying. We had this discussion while back and if people are so negative about this country leave and don't moan about this country.

could be wrong, I lived in the USA for 3.5 years while studying, started a family there, and then we came back to SA. There is not a day that I do not wish we could go back.

It's easy biting people's heads off for being negative about SA, and I just did some training in Greytown KZN, the most beautiful piece of God's earth, and I am not negative about SA, just loved Indiana even more. Saffa don't focus on the negative we all see, choose to go because you want to improve who you are and where you are.

keep them thoughts comming......as i said, i want your personal views ..... what would be interesting is to see how many people COULD leave ....  thats also very important, so I hope that people that say they are staying aren't sayign this because they CAN'T go anywhere else?

Hmmm .... keep em comming folks

Saffa, do you know what it is like waking up to heavy breathing at your bedroom window, and finding that it is a group of white tail deer that are grazing outside your window? Or to go ice skating down the local river with your rifle on your back hunting ducks. Or riding your mountain bike for 50 miles of single track and not seeing a person or climbing over a fence, and you are on the edge of town? Go and try it and if you come back you can tell us about the other side. I loved it.

I have always said this country is in the pooh. Everythgin si heading the way of Zimbabwe. I was in the post office sometime back and a guy had alot of boxes sending to Zim, we started chatting and it turns out that he was from Zim and been here 8yrs, he said to me that the way the country has gone over the last 8yrs is a carbon copy of how Zim went and is very worried about things. I would hate to know what he thinks now.

In saying that look at power, how can someone be warned about the situation and do f**kall about it? petrol 55c last night again, its going to be cheaper not to go to work, politics-dont get me started that please I dont care what any of you say but they have no idea what they doing or how to do it, the line up sounds like something out of the Usual suspects movie and corruption (like alot of governments) is so flipn rife that its the norm and everyone says "Oh well" that politics. Well its not the fact and I know a politcian who has a alcohol and crack addiction and the sh*t he told me they had gotten away with was frightning with the power they had, from car accidents where people were killed to covering up alot of sh*t and using public funds(dont ask me how I know this guy I wont tell you but I can promise the sh*t that they do is scary and get away with) Economy-they all for BEE but now that the positions have been filled they are so unskilled its a joke, instead of kicking the white guys out they shouldve let the BEE worker work with his for 10years so he atleast knows what is going on the position he filled cause clearly it isnt working for them now and now the World Cup soccer I believe that will be SA's biggest downfall. Event he World Cup Commitee have no faith in us, they have got 2 other countries on standby incase we dont have it ready on time, this has never been done ever before by the comitee to have another country ready to take over.

People wanted change and equal rights here in SA and let forget the past and move on-Bullsh*t if Ive ever heard it all you hear about still is how they never had equal rights etc etc and some people are still being tried for the passed-get over it now already.

Even in apartheid we got jobs, went to work and paid for education, now its the norm not to work, get education anyway for free and get passed cause its the right thing to do and if you dont get all the above for free then march and break things until they do. OH I never had a pregnat 17yr old in my class. No wonder we are economy wise.

Sport: WOW last night there was what on the news--not enough BEE players in the rugby team? Well I dont see 6 white guys in the Bafana team, boxing team etc. If you cant do the sport-like the job at a certain level then train or work harder, same reason Im not riding for MTN Im not good enough. Our Soccer team found a coach in 2days!! Who has been on 21 teams in 12yrs and has NO International experience-WTF?? TooHott on this forum could do a better job doesnt that say the type of guy this cowboy is?

SA needs to get grip and unfortunately its true. Work wise it doesnt affect me as I have my own business but when we did the Pasella shoot they insisted I have a man of colour in my team to show SA. The producer and I fought over that so much that I told her to go and jump and to find someone else to do the job as there is no one in my team like that and I wasnt going to lie about crap like that. They went out and found some guy to talk about bikes and wanted me to supply my team kit and a bike to him for the day and I said no chance. No tell me why did I have to do that? I dont see the opposite being done for any sport to any other form.

SA Needs to get over itself cause its in real sh*t and all thats happend is racism has done a 180. Mrs Colonel and I are outta as I am going to work with a MX rider in Canada for the 09 season so good luck here guys I'll send a post card.
