Fudge that is hectic.  Looks a little like SA driver mentality.

Note to self... Got a ships horn for my bicycle and motorbike

I cycled with a mate in Istanbul 2 years back. Was a great experience. We were on the Asian side of Istanbul. I was riding in the gutter and he was merrily in the middle of the lane. These were smallish roads. Cars came up behind and waited for the opposite lane to be clear before moving round him.

We ended riding the area on the coast where Tour of Turkey ends, where Darryl had his big crash. Plenty cyclists on the weekend and they use up the entire inside lane and the cars use the other.

Never once had a close incident and the drivers were extremely courteous to the cyclists.

Me thinks  we have similar problems on our roads ... although riding at night - no way - like this dude ...

I am sure a lot of the regular commuters here in SA could make similar videos.

I have no idea what its like in Gauteng, but here in Cape Town you assume that everyone is an idiot and you are just waiting for someone to do something careless and stupid.

Did you notice he rode like he expected all this to happen. Didn't get upset once to swear or pull zaps at the drivers.

If you ride in peak city traffic, this is what you have to expect.

This is how I ride a motorbike - assume everyone wants to run you off the road and ride accordingly.  Most of the time that works out fine.

When something weird does happen, I am not surprised, but cant help being amazed at the same time.

He rides defensively, but does give his horn/hooter quite a workout though
