They aren't as much as a unit as at the TDF... Froome doesn't go with his whole posse on rest day rides etc.. only 1 or two team mates..

 

Tinkoff also apparently picked up on it.. they said they had noticed that sky weren't signing in together and arrived at the start in drips and drabs for a few days and didn't make their way to the front to protect Froome before km0 so after a few days of monitoring it.. they decided to exploit that and Tinkoff made the move on Sunday..

Froome is also to blame he wasn't on Quintana' s wheel when the move went on Sunday.. bad positioning

 

A lot of things went wrong that day.. at a stage sky were working against each other.. Lopez trying to close the gap working for Froome and the rest in bunch 3 also chasing..

I just think Sky are shell shocked that it happened to them..

 

They are also not - how can I out it.. getting the "respect" and "fear" they are accustomed to at the TDF.. at the TDF everyone looks at sky.. the other GT it's a different story.. that's why they don't have the same success at other GT'S.. well that and their team is TDF top heavy.. all the eggs go into the TDF basket.

 

FROOME although he did make some un-Sky like moves during the TDF (well 2) is a rider that heavily depends on his team. And when the team isn't as strong as what you are used to that won't work..

 

Again another reason why we like Bert yes a strong team around you is very important..but he is able to adapt when the team isn't strong enough.

Perhaps they should arrange an "every man for himself" race without any teams. It could make for quite a spectacle. Kind of like a spring classic but just a ready-set-go kind of race and see who gets to the finish line first.
