I'm inclined to think that he should've called it a day after the race. Seeing all the media attention he attracts one can understand why Trek would want him for next year, however, he's unfortunately just not a real contender anymore.

Yeah Doug Ryder mentioned the same before the TDF and he's as close as you can get. Except for 2 minor GC firsts earlier in the year and couple of seconds and 3rd's in races where none of the other big names took part he has not shown much. Last stage he won with real competition was ITT at Dauphine. I don't think he placed higher than Quintano or Froome in any of the Vuelta stages, plus lost 3rd place on the 2nd last stage.

Next year Sky will bring the BORGS as Froome has said he is keen to do the double and is getting fed up with coming second

They will bust the bank trying to strengthen their "B" team.

Apparently he is considering lining up for the Giro next year

Presumably prior to strengthening the B team, they'll need to sort the alleged team disharmony? Something that Sir Dave seems to struggle with, if you believe Froome's autobiog on the Wiggins/Froome debacle as an example? No point in having strength, if they're not going to pull together for the leader....

I think there are a few "B" team riders that are set to leave Sky ..

End of the day..these guys have to be happy with the TDF being the main objective.. always seem that they send the riders to the other races just to keep them happy and because they have to be there. (World tour obligations)

I feel sorry for Poels, he is ready to give a GT a go, but if he gets a chance at one, there is no way they will send him a good enough support team... all the eggs are in the Froome and TDF basket, no wonder there may be friction at team Sky...

And they have a lot of really good riders, that can challenge and win any race, but they just don't seem to commit 100% to any of those riders.[emoji53]

I believe, based on the evidence of team performance from Stage 15, that Froome Dawg did not have the loyalty and commitment from his team. Somehow.

For them to be lined up, near the back, away from the team leader, sipping on tea and chatting... Hmmmm. Something is off.

And it did cost Team Sky a much bigger chance at taking the red jersey home.

Yip, big question.

Other than Froome Dawg, who will be the 2nd GC lead man?

Landa is struggling.

Poels - does he have the courage? And is he encouraged?

I swear Landa was bought for one reason and one reason only.. so no one else could buy him[emoji39] rather have him bench warm than have him work for the opposition, kind of like Real Madrid do[emoji6]

He has really had a terrible season..

Think König is leaving.. rumour has it he is going back to Bora?

Good points, Gen'

I agree about Landa.

I'm very interested in Trek-Segafredo.

They are seemingly beginning to build quite a formidable team for GC.

Very... But the Bert deal isn't finalised yet hey.. they haven't announced and neither has Bert.. like I said on the DD tread.. Doug should make a play for him.. .. mega points and guaranteed wildcards..[emoji39] the deal with Trek isn't apparently almost done[emoji22]

They are also building one hell of a classic team hey..yoh.

I think life after Fabulous is looking really good.
