Hi Hubbers,

I need some help! I am in the market for a new bike. Really love the Yeti ASR Enduro (R69 000). Was also looking at the Specialized Camber Elite (R79 999). The today I managed to find a 2015 Spec Camer Elite new for R40 000. Which is one helluva attractive price. So now I'm stuck and need some advice. Here are the specs more or less:

So whats the feeling?

I was in a similar situation a few month ago and also sourced a 2015 spez camber elite at a great price.

I could not find anything with the same type of components at the price so for me it was a no brainier.

The camber suits me perfectly and I will easily say it's the best bike I have riden. Was on a sworks stumpy previously but been out of the MTB scene for a few years.

That's my 2C

Thanks Mark! Also been of the bike for about 6 months. Getting back now...and it's tough. Think I'm set on the Camber as well. Thanks for the 2C...gonna put it towards the new bike!

Spez is reliable awesome and so much more ....but every piet has one

The yeti is all of the above and more and there are probs not more than 20 in SA....I would ellect to ride a bike not everyone has

Does the Spez Enduro not interest you? Was at a showroom today and there are still some 2016's left in the country at around R49,000.00

Thing is the enduro is probably a great bike but with the amount of cross country/marathon events in SA it feels a little silly getting an Enduro. Plus I'm not the greatest climber so the Enduro might punish me a bit.

Yeah I hear you on the Yeti and how unique it is...thing is the Specialized has such a great spec and with R30 000 I could probably make it pretty different!

Get the camber. Upgrade the wheels and BAM

Thats what I was thinking Myles...maybe a set of South Industries...

Dropping 40k on a bike which does not have a warranty is a bit scary. MTB frames break often.

Full warranty is still in effect! So the basically lifetime coverage

My bad, thought it was second hand.

Are you importing it then?

The Enduro is a great bike, but not really enough of an all rounder for entering in a marathon race.... I have ridden mine for 70 in a single ride... and if there wern't jumps and bumps in the ride, it would have been better on my Epic, or even my SS.

Take the camber at 40k - should be perfect for most things - don't worry about the wheels until you damage one - change the tires to something with decent sidewalls.

Spend the saving on a good helmet and comfortable kit :)
