I wanted to introduce myself, but the pace was killing me. Thought I would do it later, but never saw you again. Breezer were you in the little group of about 7 that rode together between Wellington and Bohtmaskop?

babse Posted October 24, 2016 Posted October 24, 2016 My hardest race to date, was actually counting down the KM from +- 60 to go when I realized I only have 3 sips of liquid left.. Big Ups to the 2 X Hot Chillee and 1X summit boys , solid ride yeah one of the hardest PPa races, those guys were monsters especially in the first half of the race.kudos to the rest for working together to reel them in after botmans manage roll in at 4:28

'Dale Posted October 24, 2016 Posted October 24, 2016 After a tentative start, I was edgy in the wheels after crashing out at my last race.Eventually found the rhythm and familiar confidence and it was echelon time in B. Crampfest started at 130 km.Could roll solo from there as bunches passed me.Glad I was able to finish and not surrender to the sweeper vehicle. I cried myself to sleep last night, of course. ????

The extra distance compared to the normal funrides is brutal if you get your tactics wrong or try to wing it when you are not quite fit enough - which makes the One Tonner unique Had an embarrassing last 20km when it felt like everybody and their dog were passing me plodding along on my own, completely blown. Will redeem myself at the Stellenbosh tour

I wheel sucked this year as much as possible, got dropped solid on botmans (luckily planned for this as i'm useless uphills). A new bunch formed as the stragglers caught up to each other. Eventually got dropped again just before stellenbosch (I suck at hill climbs) and solo'ed last 10km home. Improved my time by 50 minutes to finish 5:05 .. Happy with time, suck big time to get dropped proper twice.., Need to go sit down and figure out how to get that sorted :-) oo .. PPA sticker pickup was a breeze .. no queues at all.. arrived there 6:15. Loo's was different story :-)
