Hello all

I was wondering if anyone knows if its possible to ride at Suikerbosrand now. I know they were closed for a while. If I recall it used to open at 7:30am and cost about R40 for a day entry and you could cycle the loop road. I am keen to head out there sometime but dont want to go all that way to turn around again!

Thanks!

It's an evil place but still find myself going there. kinda like fatal attraction.

:whistling:  agreed...why do we LOVE the Pain cave   weird how we return time and time again to face the evilness which we call Suikerbos   can not WAIT to go back, just LOVE IT there...LOL

I'm excited but scared. Does anyone know how safe the day visitors spot is half way around the course. I mean is it safe for the wife and little kids to spend the morning there by themselves? It is quite isolated so just wanted to check.

The PLACE to learn to climb the hills. In Jhb at least! As long as I don't get chicked again

Head winds were a bit nasty last weekend.  :cursing:

My times are getting better which means the legs are slowly getting there...SBR rocks, on tar....

I'm keen to try it out. Will be in Jozi first week of September so will give it a go then. Just going to be a trek out from Centurion.

Can someone share a strava/gpx file for the full loop please ?

Every time I go there, I try to beat my PB but just end up burning myself out.

How's your times around there?

I try use the place to have a safe road ride that's good for training...push up the hills, recover on the flats but enjoy the downs!

Done the loop a few times - great training and very safe as far as traffic is concerned.

Does anybody know if there is some MTB trails in the reserve

My PB is 2:53, shame full if you look at strava.

I totally get that. Never leave sbr without being dead on my feet.
