Gucci Posted February 7, 2017 Author Posted February 7, 2017 Im checking DHL Daily - currently no update for 5 days. I think its stuck in Cape Mail Customs!! I really hope I can get it out next two days as I'm crazy busy then away again!!!

The part finally arrived and I think it will work!!! http://i.imgur.com/fkp4nxC.jpg Thankfully im not away and back in the office Friday so will be booking the bike into Woodstock Cycles to change the calipers over (from post to flat) add the bar tape and add the missing bolts on the front disk lost by the last LBS - I'm hoping this will all happen next week so I think i will be on the road the week after? Will keep you posted!!

The poor man is totally snowed under with Argus coming up and everyone wanting their road bikes serviced before that. Then, the week directly after is Eroica South Africa and people are scrambling for classic old bikes to ride. That's Niels' main business. I hear they get a lot of queries from overseas as well from people wanting old bikes to rent or to buy. Edit: I recently looked at another old frame hanging from the rafters, but took pity on him and decided to leave it till after the madness.
Monark Posted February 22, 2017 Posted February 22, 2017 This is going to be one of those bikes that is worth waiting for. A suggestion if I may, ask Nils to test ride it properly before delivery. Ensure that there is no brake rub or unhappy gears. Get him to do a solid shake down for you. When you collect, take your kit and go for a ride, go back and get any niggles sorted then and there.
Gucci Posted February 23, 2017 Author Posted February 23, 2017 Yup - as far as I'm concerned he is doing me the favor here so I haven't even chatted to him for an update - I will wait - it will be worth it. Him and Ralph were my first choice but they couldn't take it on at the time and I was sure it was a quick put together build...........then the brake issue happened and it went down hill from there (metaphorically not physically) I did tell Nils to ride it and possibly even take it out for a proper ride but I don't think he will have the time. I currently have soooooo much going on at work right now I'm not stressed and I'm cultivating my next belt drive bike - titanium frame, single brake, high end mimimal build. I fell in love with some wheels but at R60k I simply couldn't justify it .......but dam they were amazing!!
