Raleigh rc's

Hey

I am quite a cycling noob who only started at the beginning of this year on my crappy high school mtb. However I want to try road cycling since I never had exposure to it and I am looking at a entry level second hand bike.

I have seen some raleigh rc x000's going around for a not a bad price but I cannot find any information on the internet about the raleigh rc x000 range. The only google hits that comes up are other classifieds ads.

Does anyone know at least what year these models were made? I am looking at a raleigh rc 6000 with 105's at the moment. Would it be a ok starter bike?

Real solid bikes, the RC comes in many variants - I would say RC6000 is a very good bike not just a starter.

Agreed, very good bike. Had one a few years ago as my first road bike.

Those old RC's are fantastic bikes. Really solid, used to be raced by many a team back in the day. 

 

An RC 6000 would be pretty darn good as a bike, not just a starter. It'll stand you in good stead for a while.

There should be a lot of them around. I had an RC6000, it was a good bike.

 

At one point the RC3000 was the most popular bike on the road. I understand the range we have in SA was only released locally.

I bought a RC3000 years ago and it just went and went and....... I still have it today and use it for training. The RC6000 was a few models above mine,. I have Tiagra on mine. Cant go wrong with that bike.
