Site does seem to be down from the Namibia side too?

..........and the SA Post Office taking their time delivering international rider's maps to me......grey hair just went white.

Meryl told me they did some work on the servers. You need to clear browser history and it should work. I tried but didn't manage will try later on a different machine. Let me know if it worked for you.

Website is working fine in Vredendal, maybe we're three months behind the rest of SA........

I might be riding without maps and boxes with a moerse smile, could get interesting.......

Boxes are optional, maps are advised/ recommended (perhaps not in your case).

Essential is a smile, a resolve to finish and a recognition that at some point it will get 'interesting'.

The rest is part of the adventure.

I had a very interesting visit from somebody to my kids birthday party on Saturday . We discussed the last batch and when I mentioned Dreyer for the win , he just shook his head and said "watch and learn " .

Going to visit some old trees and maybe a few new ones over the weekend..........just need to confirm that I'm still on the right track, pack the good stuff boys & girls, because every box I open will be a Freedom Lucky packet to me, if I happens to be on the trail.....

Nonsense man, the only bars you need are Bar Ones. And brakes slow you down.

So in less than a week I need to get on my way to The airport.

Shiny brakes sitting on the kitchen table but no bike.

Recovering it from the shops hopefully tonight for a standard shock service. Not so when getting it ready to drop of found a considerable leak on one fork leg lets see what the verdict is.

But this is the minor issue when changing gear ratio and retightening the dropouts the thread sheared of. The good news is the part is replacable, the bad news find one in stock. Has been ordererd during the weekend not left the German warehouse yet needs to leave today or tomorrow early morning to get here in time.

Anyone know of a good hardware store in PMB as I might have a bush hack to get the old broken part to hold.

I need a right handside salsa alternator dropout fs1312  or fs1318 from salsa as I can use aswell the normal as the singlespeed one. But very unlikely there is stock in South Africa and can't be home made. But I am gonna just tread a bolt straight through and lock with a nut on the other side. Will need to take it off every day to adjust chain tension but should work according to the local mechanic.

The offending black part. The top small pivot bolt is still there. The main bolt bottom right the tread has gone and the Bolt is missing in action. The is part attaches the rear wheel to the frame so its kinda usefull. Gonna tread a bolt straight through. Would like to find an 8 size 20 mm bolt with allen key head to limit necessary tools but currently only have nnormal bolt although whith thos special locknut that stay on well.

Johann I'm interested in a fresh set of legs never before used in the Freedom Challenge, could you perhaps manufacture a set for me in your workshop ???

Thanks but the bodge has been installed and looks actually neat.

The useless Germans from bike24.com have given an update asking wy my order for a dropout and bolts was delayed the replied the white shoes you ordered are not in stock. I d'didn't order any shoes. And when you reply to their mail it comes back and say your mail has been bounced and marked as spam.

Will carry spare bodge you actually don't see much difference.
