I get why they do it, but it doesn't feel right.

No way to force them to continue and complete a Tour.If they try and even come up with some penalty of sorts they will simply race till they want to quit then make sure of elimination on the next stage... Or fake being ill.

Or fake being ill.Thats why you don't penalize, you incentives.... old HR trick Penalties incentivizes people too find a short cut. Put more sprint stages towards the end, allocate more points towards the end, big cash bonuses for sprint points in the final 3rd of race.... Im not sure, but there will be something appropriate if some thought is given to it. I am not saying I have the solution, I am just saying that there must surely be one.
