There's a company trading as "SA Promogifts", http://www.promogifts.co.za  - apparently based in KZN.

Tel (033) 396-1121 / email  sales@sapromogifts.co.za

They received full payment upfront of R2562.72 for promotional gifts (200 drawstring bags, with logo) on the 28th March 2016 this year. They have not yet delivered the goods as agreed, despite numerous phone calls, emails and empty promises from them.

Phone calls and emails now go unanswered.

Please note that I am not accusing them of anything, I am merely stating facts.

If you're about to order any promotional stuff for your clients, you might want to take note of this.

They are using a name that is similar to a reputable company in the same line of business.

They also feature on Hellopeter.com

Take care.

Same company that was supposed to do the shirts for a running race one of my directors organised two years ago.

Was a mad panic to make alternative plans just before the race when it was clear they would not be coming through with the goods.

I cant remember what happened in the end though but I seem to recall the money ending up as school fees.

Hi johannrissik

I used to work in that trade and my sister continues to run her own business, which also also does screen printing/gifts/corporate branding/desien etc.\

http://www.promogifts.co.za/ is a website to help "retailers" sell the "wholesalers" goods. Its so that the "public" does not contact the "wholesaler" directly. This protects the "retailer" and the "wholesaler".

The wholesaler is not affiliated with sapromogifts, as far as I know!

There is a massive difference there. sapromogifts looks to me as a "retailer" which may or may not have scammed you of money (allegedly?).

To verify my statements above please feel free to contact AMROD directly and I'm sure they will verify that they are not affiliated with sapromogifts.co.za

AMROD contact details-

http://www.amrod.co.za/Contact.aspx

I am not supposed to give you these details, for reasons stated above, but I just don't feel that AMROD's website should be slated/ rated negatively because of another companies' bad business practice (alleged?).

Please note I am not affiliated or associated with either businesses, I am merely stating facts so that a business name is not tarnished unnecessarily.

Cheers.

Sorry to hear about your experience. I am heavily involved with the largest corporate gift company in the country shooting catalogues for them for 14 years. You get some dodgy guys but most are quite reputable. The company I shoot for brands and imports but won't sell direct to end user. I have access to info for reputable resellers if you need any help

Thanks. My post was intended to warn unsuspecting buyers and to alert legitimate sellers of the way SA Promogifts do business.

Thanks for the link to AMROD.

Thanks again, this is all very useful.

I'll get hold of AMROD and see if they can sort this out.

Update:

After a blast from AMROD, SA Promogifts sent a grovelling apology with yet another empty promise to deliver the goods by yesterday.....

Please note: I am NOT accusing Lee at SA Promogifts of fraud.

What I am saying is that SA Promogifts took the money, lied to the customer and failed to deliver the goods.

You make your own decisions about doing business with these people.
