Yes, but there are often much better treatment for those symptoms. The side effects probably outweights the benefits in most cases, we just don't realise it

i'm not endorsing NSAIDs (and this coming from a pharmacy manager) don't take it if you can avoid it.  That inflammation is there for a reason and with the right nutrient inputs the body heals itself.

I used to suffer with back ache and do the same, Voltaren shot from time to time and anti inflammatory tabs, was referred to a good chiro (in your hood...) and have not used anything since. Combination of stretching and core strength sorted my back issues.

i tried chiro (Jenny) but never really seemed to help.

Road riding has seemed to strengthen my core (if that makes any sense ) or though it didn't at first Would get of the road bike and take half hour just to get myself upright. Has got better for sure.

When your back goes, you obviously loose strength to pedal especially on mnt bike as pulling on the bars when climbing is out the question.

Absolutely agree with you!

People tend to see it as the 'enemy' - but a lot of the local adaptations we get (and want) from training revolves around this process. Block inflammation, and you limit a lot of these adaptations

So is Mylan dicolofenac bad for you on a long term basis? Mostly take them before a ride and very seldom after. As prescribed. Also use mypaid as well.

Not a good idea ?

What are you taking that stuff for as a matter of interest?

Jenny is good if you're a little person, but she lacks strength to properly align my (not very limber) chassis. Ashleigh is my go to person (she works on horses too), or if you like being beaten up, try Greg!

It's a bit alarming to see how some have no problem with the anti inflammatory meds. Sure it's fine to use in the short term but if you have a problem and have to use it more regularly for your back, shoulder or any other muscle then there is probably a underlying problem that needs to be fixed/attended to.

Go see a Biokineticist and get some exercises to rehab and build your stabilizing muscles. You will thank yourself in the long run.

I don't want to interfere with your prescription, as I am not you physician; but -

There well several well documented side effects of NSAID use, most notably gastrointestinal (ulcers), and renal overload. There are also some evidence for increased cardiac and vascular risk (but more so in COX2).

If you are dehydrated, the load onto the kidneys increase, so I would be weary of NSAID use before/after exercise.

Very stiff lower back . Very limited movement sometimes.

Do you do any core and lower back exercises?

I also had this problem a few years back especially on the MTB and very long road rides. I started to do some core and lower back exercises as well as a stretching routine and it completely changed my cycling. I'm got much stronger on the bike and I'm 99% pain free on all my rides.

I started off with a few easy exercises and built it up from there over a few weeks. Consistency is key with core. I'm by no means a ripped 6 pack athlete or anything but a strong core is important.
