Lee Stockenstrom/sweat n gears

I just received a message saying that Lee was attacked early this morning. He was stabbed multiple times. He is in hospital and stable.

 

Can anyone confirm this?

 

Lee used to own Sweat and Gears cycling shop in Benoni(I believe he sold it and then was working for CL boksburg) and was the trail builder/organiser for the Emperors palace MTB race.

Police are confident that they will catch the perp as he was also injured in the attack .

I just saw a picture of his face. Jeez the perp bashed him up quite badly.

No problem. I just know Lee from my Dad's racing days but Popit seems to be buddies with him. I am sure he will give us an update after he see's Lee tonight, Likewise if your Mom gets an update you can let us know.

Hey Guys ,

I have just come back from visiting Lee .

He is back at home and doing well under the cicumstances .

 

So an un-invited guest woke Lee up at about 5am on Monday morning .

When the intruder saw Lee was awake he tried to exit via a kitchen window .

 

Stokkies being Stokkies decided that wasn't a good idea and pulled said visitor back into the house and promptly started giving him a good beating .

 

Dinner plates and mugs were used as weapons until unfortunately said visitor managed to get a steak knife that was in the wash basin and proceeded to poke some new holes in Lee's back .

 

Fortunately nothing that about 60 stiches and 2 days in hospital couldn't fix .

Unfortunately the dude managed to escape and is still at large .

 

I make light of this , because that is exactly how Lee told it to me , however on a serious note , this was a very serious attack , and has traumatised Lee and Eric ( his 88 year old dad) so badly that he won't be staying at home for the forseeable future .

Logic after the event says shoul've let the guy go. In the moment you just want to "moer" the guy. Pity Lee didn't get to the knife first.

 

But well done for standing up for yourself Lee. Too easy knowadays for us to back off from any form of confrontation. That's why these criminals run rife !!
