If I was Sky I will not bother to get yellow in the next few days at all. Let Aru stress about keeping yellow and let Astana drive the pace. Froome can sit behind Aru at 6 seconds comfortably until the TT before Paris, where he will just rip the yellow off Aru easily.

Yah, but I doubt Astana will stress, Vino is far too wide awake for that, I think they will just let the break go and plod on at their comfortable pace, similar to SKY tactics, and if anyone wants to chase.......well, be our guest.

However I agree, unless Aru can get some more time I also doubt he will survive all the way in Yellow, perhaps he will get some help from other teams, but either way I wouldn't discount him just yet, he doesnt read the memo's the others do, and basically hasn't had any real team support in crucial stages so far, so has had to just fly solo,..... it will be hard but I dont think he will roll over that easy.

Porte received the penalty. .he went back to fetch the gel for Froome so he got the penalty.. interesting was at the Dauphine this year that Bert received a penalty after his team mate fetch a gel or something for him..

Listen they just make it up as they go along.

That was it...good memory you got.

The application of the rules has always been a bloody farce and then the justification and explanations afterwards are often more laughable!

Saddest moment of the year for me:

Yah, me too, not sure if all the crashes have sapped him or he is just not on the same level as the others, a bit of both maybe but I think a little more of the latter.

Both Porte and Froome got penalised 20 seconds. I was quite sure it was just Porte, but I went and checked:

Froome was the one trying to be a smart ass:

"At the end of the day a rule is a rule and if I’ve been given 20 seconds I’ll have to take that, but if you look at the technicality it was actually Richie Porte who fed from the car not myself. I fed from Richie Porte so maybe that’s something that needs to be taken in consideration," he said.

He still did real good in all the races leading up to the Tour, better than Bardet, Martin, Froome, Uran or Aru. So I'll give him that.

There'll be lots of rollers whirring and stationary trainers singing at this point from this point on

Don't blink

It's gonna be ????????????????????????

We should also remember that Sky will not be the first support car behind the peloton today but Astana. So If Froome gets a mechanical Vino will stall his car "accidentally" blocking access

Agreed, very sad to see such a charismatic rider on such a boring bike.

He's still going to try for a stage I'm sure. (Well not really sure, but here's to hoping)
