2017 Tour de France

I've seen so many *a number of people pick riders for their fantasy team based on performances leading up to the Tour, only to see them fail to live up to the same performance they delivered at those (pre-Tour) races. One hit wonders are also included.

 

Talansky, van Garderen, Hesjedal spring to mind.

 

Hoping that Porte and Fuglsang are not included in the above scenario, and they can live up to their Dauphine form.

Not sure how i feel about this.

 I remember watching the first TDF broadcast on M-Net in 1987; weekly highlights followed by the 3 hour highlights reel at the end of the 3 weeks. Phil was broadcasting at the time, and has been in that same chair each year thereafter if i'm not mistaken. I'm not sure if Paul was also part of the broadcast team in that first year, but he has also become part of the July family.

There have been times over the past 30 years that i've wanted to mute the TV, just so that i would not have to hear the same story about Stephen Roche's 1987 wonder year or some other commentary that had been repeated so many times i can still recall it word for word.

Despite my b@#tching, i know that i will surely miss those familiar voices.

I wonder if we will also benefit from this..I read it that they will be replaced for the broadcast in Australia. .I think we get the Yank cometary feed and they will still be on the yank feed. [emoji17]
