Where to swim in Badplaas

So I am heading to forever resort Badplaas over December. Will be there for about 13 days and need a place to swim in order to keep the fitness up for 70.3 East London

 

Now they have a large heated pool but I am guessing this will be waaaay to hot to swim laps in.

The cold pool will probably be too small to train in.

 

Anyone know of a place close by that one can swim at to not lose too much fitness?

I would be very surprised if there are large swimming pools around Badplaas other than the ones in the resort.

 

The cold swimming pool is not that small, might be a better option than driving 80km to Barberton...

It's been ages since I have been there.  But what I do remember that I swam in the cold pool and it was not too small and everybody wanted to swim in the warm water.  So a few of us had the cold pool all to ourselves.

See if they will let you swim around the water ski lake/oval.  It is used for the Bela Bela 5150 swim

There is a largish dam on the way to Barberton from there, not too far if I recall. Might be an option?

The cold swimming pool in the resort is of adequate length for some training

Vygeboom dam near badplaas on way to Baberton ... used to ski there as child ... not sure of water levels with the drought ... but you need some open water training for E L .
