Why not take it as a recovery week ? Increase your time the week before if possible to build up more fatigue then have an easy one. You won't lose fitness if you still doing other activities, and swimming is good for recovery anyway.

Thx that is a good tip. I will keep that in mind.

I will post updates as I go along, but not every day.. as I have been.. that will bore you guys to death [emoji23] [emoji23]

Maybe a weekly update unless something interesting or funny happens.

So since I entered I have ridden 15 hours...

And Thor would be proud we had pumping wind today and I timed it really well.. did the first 1hr15 in laps around the dorp and then hubby came with for the remaining 1hr44 (when he got home from work) and we went for an out ride..

Today there was no hiding from the wind not even in town..

I thought my Ave would be a lot less because of the wind..but after the ride when I reviewed the ride details it was the same as my previous 3hr ride..(average is still pretty low.m but that's not bugging me atm.. all about building that endurance)

Also noticing that I am managing my HR better (yip still riding in the 70% zone) can stay in the zone easier.. fatigue only kicked in 15min from the end when managing the HR becomes a bit tricky.. so I am taking each little victory.????

Tomorrow is my rest day.. and on Saturday I start the recipe all over again.. but to thank hubby for riding with me on tar the whole time, I think we will go onto the dirt so he too can have some fun..

PS I treated myself to pizza for supper[emoji85]

PPS the more time I spend on the RB the more comfortable and confident..I am trusting the skinny wheels more and more and am finding myself enjoying the few cornering I get to do.. also we have lots of circles here and I am now really enjoying those[emoji39] my butt still hurts at the start of the ride though so I am hoping my behind will HTFU quickly or I must look at another saddle and possibly a good quality bib..[emoji6]

My Xmas list is not long.. all it says is assos bib[emoji23] [emoji23] hubby says sure he will get it for me.. BUT in one size smaller than I am atm[emoji23] [emoji23] [emoji23]

Edit: Oh also heard this morning on out coffee ride that entries will be limited to 10 000.

Talk about pure optimism. Unless of course it becomes a preferred entry for the actual L'Etape which is horribly over subscribed and not that easy to get an entry for.

If Froome's invited to this one then I'm definitely not going!

Otherwise I should be there.

I was going to say he'll turn it into a horse and pony show but then remembered the donkey that became the thoroughbred race horse so I'll just agree with your sentiments.

i enjoy the quality of the assos bib...just make sure they are "tight".

Well if he gets me a size smaller than what I am atm they will Def be tight[emoji85] [emoji23]

you want to listen to veez ...he certainly is doing something right...or it could just be the new bike he got recently ;)

I most certainly will.. all advice welcome

Like I said before.. I follow instructions well if I ride past my house with 5min short I will carry on and go find those 5min.. and told stay in the HR I do my best to stay there and can get quite miff with myself when it goes above[emoji53]

I may be 1 out of a 1000, but Assos S7 bibs did not work for me. Got the T Cento which is the mid range at about R3500 and it was a total waste of moolla. It has to be the most uncomfortable pair of bibs I own.

My now go to bib is the Vermarc Relax. 5 hours in them with no issues. They also much cheaper.

Definitely not the bike. 947 was on the old bike and that was my best ride yet.

I have heard rumours that the Giant has a motor in the downtube. Veez has been killing it lately!

It's a rare review indeed

Then again, just shows, not everybody's chassis is the same ????

Have Admin organised a lady to do a full review of the ladies bibs available..I would be very keen on reading that, cause you know us girls need some different support

I currently use the indola shorts (not bib) and they have been fine.. but I would like to look at something for longer hours in the saddle.
