In the past I have felt some of the guys who won just got real lucky. And sure, lady luck has to me smiling at you to win PR, but I say GVA really was the best on/of the day: getting in the final break that counted, pulling hard to keep the gap, and that final sprint was just totally awesome. Also he team played it well as well: Oss going out the way he did to make the others chase.  And remember Greg had to work hard to get back after that technical as well.

I'm thinking of van Sommeren a few years ago.

Then again, Lady Luck smiles on one when one is in the rare position to be smiled upon - like a narrow window in time and space.

The man Greg was just unbeatable this Spring hey.

And last year much the same with Matt ... but go back and see on previous editions that these guys have featured before, many times.

But Greg ... common that sprint was just frigging awesome, given everything that had taken place already

@Cav'

The title of the thread should be "The Classics 2017" or the "Spring Classics 2017" if the Giro di Lombardia (GdL) is excluded from this thread.

Spring - MSR

* Cobbled - E3, G-W, RVV, PR

* Ardennes - AG, FW, LBL

Summer - a few, but over-shadowed by the Grand Tours.

Autumn - Paris-Tours, Lombardia.

The 5 in bold are the monuments - for those that don't already know.

MSR is the start, usually on the first Sunday of Spring, while LBL usually concludes the Spring Classics season.

Hey it's not my thread... (although it might seem that way)

I am well aware of how the classics are classified too.

But I see Dale edited the title after your OCD rant.
