Hairy Posted September 4, 2017 Posted September 4, 2017 Look forward to you joining the 5k club! How many km did you do last year for commuting? No idea, I just commuted. Generally commute daily, except a shorter Thursday ride in the morning ... so would assume roughly the same that I am on now ... actually no, more than Endomodo is saying. The app has dropped me a good few times and I also took some time to remember to switch the damned app on!
Hairy Posted September 4, 2017 Posted September 4, 2017 @Hairy: annual leave is in December. But i am taking 3 days leave in October. Well I look forward to your 3 days off
samson99 Posted September 5, 2017 Posted September 5, 2017 Congratulations Hairy on joining the 5 000km club!!

samson99 Posted September 5, 2017 Posted September 5, 2017 and then this morning again the bloody endomondo app fails on me .... not the most stable app to date for .................... me at least.Thank heavens for Garmin. I don't have to worry about the app at all.It loads automatically when i am done. i just need to change the activity type.
Long Wheel Base Posted September 5, 2017 Posted September 5, 2017 and then this morning again the bloody endomondo app fails on me .... not the most stable app to date for .................... me at least. Thank heavens for Garmin. I don't have to worry about the app at all.It loads automatically when i am done. i just need to change the activity type.Garmin connected to phone via BT, after my ride it uploads to garmin connect automatically. Strava, endomondo and momentum multiply all linked to garmin connect and they all sync via fancy technology without me doing anything. All I then do is log onto endomondo here at work and change to transport.Only problem with all this is I can't use the app failing as an excuse for not commuting as much as the rest.............
Bateleur1 Posted September 5, 2017 Posted September 5, 2017 The Garmin route has made life a bliss the last couple weeks. No more bothering with the phone. Just press the start button and go. Lots of work for me to do to get to the 5k club.
Hairy Posted September 6, 2017 Posted September 6, 2017 There's a 5000 on the board So last year you made a commitment to commute 3000km cat-iMembers3,536 postsProvince:GautengCycling Interests:MTB, Triathlon / Multisport, CommutingPosted 08 December 2016 - 02:15Will be closing off my commuters challenge this afternoon - last commute for the year. Just over 2000 done for the year. That's about 200 litres of fuel If there's a similar challenge for next year, I'll try to get to 3000 - was a great motivator!Gandalf likes this Like ThisIt's a dangerous business, Frodo, going out your door. Long Wheel Base Posted September 7, 2017 Posted September 7, 2017 Bloody app bombed out again this afternoon!!!!Maybe consider using the strava app and then link the 2? I haven't heard of any complaints about the strava app.
Bateleur1 Posted September 7, 2017 Posted September 7, 2017 Maybe consider using the strava app and then link the 2? I haven't heard of any complaints about the strava app. Strava has had its moments with me on IOS. It happened every now and then that it did not record long stretches. But it was I would say 98% reliable.
