Whenever it's a muddy mess after some rain, i enjoy riding my Sawyer even more than usual. It's fitted with a Gate's carbon belt drive sytem (has a split frame to be able to fit the belt drive) and go look for some mud. It goes through mud pits like a hot knife through butter, it's a blast! So, my point is, when it's muddy, go ss as there will be no chain suck, no need to replace the drive train and no lube required on the belt drive.

I have done that particular race with a Single Speed rigid a few times and it was fine ... the only problem is that there is some serious 'clay' type mud in that area which can clog up on the wheels around the rear stays and can be frikkin irritating. According to the organizers that has been cut out this time :)

Whats the venue name, can you post a google link/map or do I just enter Buffelsdrift in Google Map.

G

Sorry man, only seeing your reply now. It is called Buffelsdrift Mountain Bike park. If you google it you will get the maps location.

Really a very lekker venue with up to 50km of trail. Mix of single track and jeep track. Well worth the drive.

And here in the Cape we are praying for a few drops of precipitation.....

14 hours of water a day soon... predicted 8 to 10 hours a day water cuts because people are still watering their lawns and filling their swimming pools.

eish.....
