Looking for easy trails

Hi All

 

I'm introducing a buddy and his kids to cycling and would appreciate any suggestions on some light trails in the Centurion area? I'm looking for some jeep track and nice scenery. Any thoughts on Rietvlei dam ? All suggestions welcome.

Big Red Barn

Big Red Bard in Irene would be your best bet. They have a 4km green route suitable for anyone starting out.

Cycled Rietvlei dam in November. Great scenery, but you can't cycle within the reserve. Only the on the camping/fishing side, which has single track that hasn't been cut in a while. Was a little difficult to follow where I should be going.

I can only second what others have recommended with Big Red Barn. Nice easy trails and the kids can ride the tracks in front of the restaurant area which they normally all love to do after riding the trails.

Northern Farms isnt too far from Centurion.

 

Just up N14 or R28.

 

Mix of good trails including a 8km route just for kids.

 

Good security, bike wash and place to have a cool drink or coffee after with a toasted sarmie.

 

Agree though Big Red barn is also good

Big Red Barn or Northern Farms both close to Centurion.

 

Then closer to Pta east - Rosemary Hill or Hazeldean Valley
