Hi everyone

Anyone willing to share some of their dinner/meal recipes they like to make sure they get in in the week leading up to a race.

tbh I eat pretty much the same as normal.

I try to swap potatoes for sweet potatoes in general and I try to avoid rice, if necessary I go with brown rice.

I don't make a major change.

I try and cut out red meat and replace with chicken/fish during race week and I up my iron intake through green veggies

otherwise nothing much changes, I follow a no sugar diet but I still eat carbs (brown rice, potatoes etc.)

Dinner - layoff heavy carbs ( rice, bread ) potatoes and pasta in moderation if its after 4pm and I try go to bed slightly hungry, this trains the body to use its reserves, I do however chow down come breakfast!!.

Pretty much don't change anything, only lay eating curry and pies the day before.

Read an article where Alan Rob, multiple comrades winner's  meal the day before was steak, chips, egg and salads.

starting to slowly move away from the traditional high carb, low fat diet that was prescribed by a dietitian. Doing away with grains, sugar, refined foods incl pasta and bread. Baby potatoes, sweet potatoes, fish, chicken, fresh fruit and raw veg is dominating at present. No compromise on beer though. feeling better, riding pretty much the same
