EDIT: Updating this post...

Looks like we're almost set! Just need someone to organise the actual bike plant.

Remaining items:

Stem and bars - berry to confirm

Painting completed bike - Varkie stepping up some more!

Doing the actual bike plant - ??

(This item will need co-ordinating with Shane in case he wants to have the family and\or other close buddies involved. May also want to arrange a ride out to the bike once it is in place!)

Assigned items:

Sourced wheels, fork and saddle and delivery to Top Floor - Smurfy (Thanks to your LBS!)

Donated frame - Wannabe

Welding services and setting in concrete - Varkie

SHOT to all the above crew stepping up so far!

Best will probabaly be that i paint it also. As it will be too heavy to just move around to have painted elsewhere. Will a normal white metal paint do the job? Or can spray paint from brights? Then its from here straight to the scene.

Cool! Anything that will make it white will work. Heavy duty enamel type will just last longer, before the bike starts to look weathered. (Remember this bike will sit in the elements 24 hours, 7 days a week). Time goes by quick and if it's done right, the bike wont go anywhere, so it's useful to have it look good for as long as it can, before someone needs to go out and do a touch up!

I got hold of shane. He will get concent from the family.

Also arranged for a couple of motorbikes to "marshall" the ride.

Just spoke to the Panel beater next door. He also offered to spray the bike. Let me know.

Might look better iif he does it, we dont specialise in painting. Concrete and steel is our game. So that will be great.

Excellent! This will usually be heavy duty stuff! Any chance the bike can be picked up post weld for this colour run and then dropped off for a cement treatment again?

I will deliver the welded bike to Painting, if someone can just bring it back.

Jip will return it.

Do we have a date in mind for the memorial ride?

You need to plan this around the bike being completed and ready to plant. The family still has to go through their formal arrangements. It's useful to do it a little while later and not when it's super fresh still.

Step 1 - Get Ghost Bike done

Step 2 - Plant bike

Step 3 - Memorial ride

I think we should have a massive ride.

The location also makes it possible to have two groups coming from both sides. one from Stellies side and another from Brackenfell.

Shane is in contact with them and he will let me know.

When we have consent, I will ask shane or another friend to give a message as well.
