Hi Guys,

i will be working in India, Mumbai from March for a year.

thinking of taking my bike with to commute to work and back but after some YouTube searches i see it kind off a death wish.

anyone ever been there? any tips?

see some good bike shops and group rides but i am very skeptical.

Yip I lived there for 4 years. Cyclists are prettying much lowest on the food chain. I think you will **** yourself riding in the actual city and it is dangerous as anything. With a bit of an effort you can get out of the city but even then the roads are mad.

My suggestion would be to keep fit cycling indoors but take a mountain bike and make an effort to get out and do trips in rural areas in Marahastra and up in the Himalayas.

I watched the first 24 seconds and my only thought was "he's riding way too fast given the traffic"

I was there long, long ago and simply walking was a challenge at times. There are just so many people. Cycling? As a foreigner? Probably yes, once you've found your feet.

ive been there I wouldn't ride a bike in Mumbai not only might you get squished or decapitated by something protruding from a vehicle but youll die of lung cancer first (the air is very polluted along the roads which are crazy busy with vehicles)

outside the cities if you pick the right routes then maybe but like mentioned you are the bottom of the food chain so watch your back

that said its an amazing place
