Awesome event, done both so far and will definitely be doing it again next year.

Just one request - please can you guys do seeded starts next year.

60km A,B; 40km A,B; 60km C,D, then 40km C,D. There was a ton of congestion at the start with the slower 60km getting very upset that the faster 40km wanted to pass them in a hurry. I know it's a fun day out - but to many a fun day out means going full tilt. Seeded starts just avoids allot of complications out on the trail.

Average event .

Pity there wasn't even water at the end ....

They should make a bigger deal about the 20km dirt road to get to the event .

I doubt if I will be back next year .

Problem with that dirt road is that no one does the critical care that it needs.

Farmers just do not care and neither does the Government. Always been a problem.

With all the rains we had the roads can be super bad, and thought it would be the case for the event.

Ja I don't know. I entered it based on feedback from the previous year, which said it was really awesome, but wasn't really awesome. There were a few bits of single track. I saw one Wildebeest up close. Kids don't understand the concept of queues, or passing safely and taking down other riders with them, the grassy knolls destroyed my back about half way in.

I don't know, I've had better/more fun races (including mass participation Advendurance) races before.

And the entry road was so rof that Discovery phoned me six times thinking I was in an accident.

Well some guys also drove like total plonkers on the way out. Nonetheless, hope the people who had the accident are okay.

Sounds like it was not a "super let us go again event"?

I have cycled there a few years ago even had an event there for a church to fund a project.

But that was like 10 years ago, so lots can change.

We had to stop at one stage for a herd of Wildebeest to clear the road and an majestic kudu watched us crazy things passing them.

And going into the grass was a no no due to the protective nature of us and the warden at the time.

So it is sorry to hear that the event was a letdown. It was a stunning place to take the MTB, a few like minded friends and a few beers and a piece of chicken or cow to eat after the ride.
