I saw in an article this morning that Avis are offering a one-way hire option for King Shaka to Golden Horse Casino in PMB.  Will probably work out cheaper than the bus!

Hey man where did you see this?

We're 2 guys looking for a lift on race morning. Riding AL at 07:20.

If anyone has a spot available please let me know, we'll be happy to help with transport costs.

Hi.  I saw it in a newspaper article last week.  Not sure where but it was definitely Avis as they are the official car hire partner to the event.  Give them a shout.  Wish we could help with a lift up but we are full up already for the CL/DL start.

we have been on the route on a weekly basis checking on the repairs and they are getting along nicely  - they have promised all will be in order for the weekend of 22 October  thanks Shova team

i rode along the route yesterday...this rain is certainly going to add a few challenges to the road repairs.

Yesterday East Coast Cycling Club rode a portion of the Amashova route, from Hillcrest to PMB and back, and here is a video recording of my ride, although I only completed 95km of the 120km route.

My brother in law rode with a group from Hillcrest to PMB and back on Sunday as well, I wonder if he rode with the East Coast okes?

Just wondering if the storms did not affect Amashova route?

I assume it didn't do too much damage to the route, it was mainly Toti and Durban that got hit badly by the storm.

there was lots of rain in the Midlands, and the roads were already in a bad shape so it will be interesting to see what is done, especially the road from Thornvile to Cato Ridge.

Ah, I didn't see coverage about the Midlands.

How do we query our seeding or is there still an email to follow?

you can speak to cycle Events at registration  about seeding -  they can make changes there if necessary!

We were on the route yesterday checking out the state of the potholes - there are a couple of groups of guys out repairing and they assure us that all will be good for next weekend.  They had done most of the repairs before the rain on Tuesday so here's hoping for a safe ride for everyone!

we were on the route yesterday and all good! did anyone see the video of a guy wake boarding outside the elangeni - classic!!

We are leaving for Umhlanga one Sunday, so have started the packing and luckily my Racetec chip caught my eye. It usually rattles so I remove it if it is not needed.

Just thought to remind everyone to pack your chip.

Will be a good idea to sweep off the sand on the morning at the Cato Ridge intersection where all the trucks park.

Lets hope everything is in order for next week.

One would think that these roads would be in better shape seeing that comrades and Shova are 2 big events that use almost the same route. Inchanga/ Drummond etc could do with a new surface.

Been given an entry for the 65km, could someone advise if it is possible to upgrade to the 106km and if so what is the cost?
