Why only that one?  :whistling:

Because there are more chainring options for the 104bcd cranks.

The BCD may be irrelevant for the intended purpose but still a valid point when you consider that some of srams 2x10 cranks were pretty useless if you wanted to go 1x.

There's a chance OP might have such a crank. If he does. It would be best to change. If he already has 104bcd crank then he could just keep it.

^ would that include sram XO carbon cranks?

Got em on my new bike and it's been converted to 1x11 and the chain line seems too favor the smaller end of the cassette

It is actually the old SRAM XX cranks with 120 bcd that are a problem as I don't think that you can run anything smaller than 36t on them.

Nobody asked what cranks the OP are currently using.

On my X9 cranks, I could just remove the spiders and use a direct mount Chainring.

Hence my question...

Yes. Using my 2x10 slx crank on my 1x11 setup. No problems.

Did you need spacers to get the chainline right?

And did you need bolts, or did you use the old/original ones?

used my original ones, as there was only ever one chainring on the 104bcd mount. Not like a 3x where you have 2 rings on the outer mounting plate.

And no, but I should. It isn't optimal at the moment, but I'm lazy... Only really an issue in 1st & 2nd and then a 3-4mm spacer should do the trick.

I am currently running a 32T oval on my 120 x 80 bcd

There are always workarounds, but how is your chainline?
