How does the family permit work?

 

Can 4 mates buy like with the wild card?

We have 4 adults on ours, all related - but they did not check this at all, so from what I gather 4 mates will be able to get a permit together.

Likely not. As with TBMTBC a family is regarded as 2 adults and 2 children. You also have to submit ID nos

Not at Jonkers. Our members are aged 27/27/52/54.

Gates open at 7am, you can get a permit at the gate for R50 per day. You can pay with Zapper/Snapscan/Card/Cash.

 

If you have an annual permit you can enter earlier. You can also buy that for R600 per family of 4. Well worth it.

 

Route markings have been updated quite significantly. Easy to find your way to the start of most trails now.

 

Status Quo = Crap your pants steep and techy

Iron Monkey and Plumber = Black routes

Red Phoenix, Armageddon, Fire Hut = Red Routes

Never Ending Story = Blue Route

 

There are also some other trails incl green ones, but the above mentioned are the more poppular ones.

Thanks. Ive ridden red phoenix never Needing and firehut. Always wanted to ride cannaries but could never find it. Does it still exist? How is armegeddon? High skill level needed? I struggled but with phoenix but enjoyed it.

Names have changed a bit. Canaries is now called Armageddon - it is harder than Phoenix, but if you managed with Phoenix you will also manage Arageddon. A few rocky and steep sections, but none too long or too hard - give it a go. After Iron Monkey it's my fave trail at Jonkers.

 

Edit: to find Armageddon head up to Saaltjie trail head. Just follow lime green boards with white arrows that says Saaltjie

'Family' permits usually mean your actual family. Otherwise it would be called a "Group" permit.

 

Don't ruin it for everyone else by trying to cheat the system for the price of a couple of pizzas.

 

There are lots of awesome trails to ride in Jonkershoek. Keep it that way, pay your share.

spirit of the rule > letter of the rule. We're talking of less money than a tyre. Do the right thing... makes me think of Topper Harley in Hot Shot when he talks of inappropriate relations.
