RiverInTheRoad Posted April 28, 2017 Posted April 28, 2017 There will be start/stop protests the whole weekend. Stay away and starve them of the attention they crave.
Andrew_Smith Posted April 28, 2017 Author Posted April 28, 2017 There will be start/stop protests the whole weekend. Stay away and starve them of the attention they crave. Well, there goes Jonkers...
mtb impi Posted April 29, 2017 Posted April 29, 2017 Enough of the sweetest mountain water ever!Have some cookies while you enjoy the views ....Dont know whether Jonkers would be open this weekend. I will go see myself later today.
Jewbacca Posted April 29, 2017 Posted April 29, 2017 I did mention them in my earlier post... Shows you that no one actually reads anything! hahahahaha The protests are along the Jonkers Valley road. The cops actually blocked the road off on Thursday Not sure if it's open today but in the nature of our uncertain times I would go and ride G-spot/Eden/Paradyskloof instead.... That combo is pure gold. Some of the most fun trails in the Western Cape
porqui Posted April 29, 2017 Posted April 29, 2017 That road is not just a few km long. Near the town or near the entrance gate ??
Jewbacca Posted April 29, 2017 Posted April 29, 2017 That road is not just a few km long. Near the town or near the entrance gate ??It was closed past the ride in. So an exact location is not really possible without drone or helicopter footage. Our plan was to park in town or at the ride in and 'ride in' but the coppers turned us away
Captain Fastbastard Mayhem Posted April 29, 2017 Posted April 29, 2017 Trails are Open. Check Bennet Nel's Facebook for updates, or jonkershoek fb page.
Neill Du Toit Posted April 29, 2017 Posted April 29, 2017 Drove there this morning for a breakfast. Saw a few spots between postcard cafe and the gate where some idiots made fire in the road. Police where on standby this morning but all seemed calm. For now....
kader01 Posted November 8, 2018 Posted November 8, 2018 Anyone know what time one can start riding/get a permit from? Dankie
Rigardt@Scott Posted November 8, 2018 Posted November 8, 2018 Anyone know what time one can start riding/get a permit from? DankieGates open at 7am, you can get a permit at the gate for R50 per day. You can pay with Zapper/Snapscan/Card/Cash. If you have an annual permit you can enter earlier. You can also buy that for R600 per family of 4. Well worth it. Route markings have been updated quite significantly. Easy to find your way to the start of most trails now. Status Quo = Crap your pants steep and techyIron Monkey and Plumber = Black routesRed Phoenix, Armageddon, Fire Hut = Red RoutesNever Ending Story = Blue Route There are also some other trails incl green ones, but the above mentioned are the more poppular ones.
