Wattbike in cycle entertainment.

Weight to power ratio (or watts per KG) will determine how fast you go in the real world... So it's a very important stat. A pro will do around 4 watts per KG. Now those numbers are insane when you do the calculations.

My longest Wattbike session has been 2.5 hours. My entire body cries from the pain and boredom. More so the boredom. Taking donations for a Kickr.

not quite... you need a bit moar power...

Pro:
typically 7w+ for 5min
6.2w+ for 20min
6w+ for 1hr

and for the rest typically
Amateur  5min - 3.7w 20min - 3.3w

 1hr - 3.0w

A friend does 285w for 1 hr @ 67kg - that's only 4.2w/kg and an A batch rider - even getting dropped still from A sometimes.

IDT or Wattbike sessions are great for producing constant undisturbed output and thus can fully control the workout you have.

300Watts @ 100kg and 300watts @ 65kg is a huge real world difference in terms of the performance (or time) of your 100km ride typically.

It takes around 30 secs to pair your hr strap to the watt bike and another 30 secs to pair your phone, 1 min admin is worth an hour of distraction to me. Give it a try...

I take a USB Flash Drive with me to gym.  You set up your info once on the drive, and just plug it into whichever bike you get.  All your info, including previous sessions, all device pairing, etc. is save on the drive.

Just make sure there is nothing on the drive that you need, as the WB will format it the 1st time you use it

Doesn't the Wattbike app do the same thing?

Yes, but you still need to then pair your phone to the Bike (not a big deal).

More of an issue - In several of the VAs not all the WBs have Bluetooth, so you cannot use the app on all bikes.  In the VA I usually go to, only one of the WBs have Bluetooth, and I know of some VAs where none of the WBs have Bluetooth

ACDC makes every session a sufferfest... can't help it - its like "Thunderstruck" and immediately cadence = 134, to match the BPM, in what ever gear I am in on the idt. leading to dying shortly after...

It still does not matter re indoor / outdoor. Watts are Watts period. It cannot be easier on a WB than on the road.

That was all I was saying. And W/kg are also constant nothing to do with the route weather etc.

It may seem as if it is harder outside but the effort is the same.

If you start pushing 120kg up a hill instead of 80kg @ 200watts it will be different - same watts not the same RPE.

But if you are 120kg doing 200w uphill it will be the same RPE as 200w downhill. That is what I was getting at.
