On a 30/11 that's a cadence of almost 160... I'm not convinced.

On 30/9 it's around 130 which is a lot more believable but still really, really fast

So on my afternoon ride I did a little test, cadence at about 120. A 36*11, speed about 45 on my MonsterCross.

120 may not be 'stupidly' fast but I couldn't maintain that for long and I felt like I was going to unscrew my bloody hips  :whistling:  so forgive me if I am also a bit sceptical

It's something you need to get used to.

I do high cadence intervals for 5-7min @ 120 rpm, felt weird in the beginning now its 'normal'.

Also check out track and bmx riders hitting like 140-150 rpm.

I wouldn't be able to keep up such a high cadence for too long, but it is plausible.

No matter which cassette ... I just can't understand that cassettes are as expensive as they currently are .... especially considering these are consumable items.

Good old price gouging/market segmenting, proof is in how cheap yet good quality Sunrace cassettes are.

I could definitely have exaggerated A bit , BUT i DO hit 60kp/h on relatively flat terain and hitting 50 aint anything special to me either.

The point I was trying to make is to many people grind at 70rpm and complain about no top end. Stretch and do proper workouts then you'll keep high cadence easy and you'll save legs.

in the early 2000's many tdf riders clapped 185 cadence down the mountain passes at 100< kph

Ok you guys win .... My thinking was rather that it can be done but not by your 'average Joe' such as myself and even then how long can one sustain that?
