Route files for Big red barn

Went for a ride at big red barn this morning. had tons of fun on the trails! well done builders!

Only gripe, really, really confusing signage. there are places where 5 trails converge and it results in a really mess of blue squares, ones, two and arrows. not at all helped by signs that have fallen over.

So I got lost.... again.... and felt that I had missed a lot of awesome bermy, jumpy goodness.

As this has happened to me a lot, I would like to prevent it from happening again.

does anyone have any form of route file (gpx, shp, whatever) for the blue route at big red?

I want to go ride here over the weekend, and although I should be alright with this pdf, I have the GPS and might as well use it. Is there anyone with the gpx or similar files for the routes as on this pdf please? I am specifically looking for route 1 and 2. A strava ride there would also be great, as I can make a route from a ride. Thanks,

They've actually remarked the routes, if you follow 1 or 2 now you'll be fine

There's no more of that confusing 2s , 2b stuff

Here be my last ride

Good luck with BRB - No 2 rides i've done there have been the same - when you come to those 5 way crossings just go straight

Awesome thanks, I will have the file as backup. But if they are better as Uni said I should be good.

I haven't ridden Big Red in years, by the looks of the GPX it seems there as some decent climbing there now?

No major climbs unless like me you consider from the river to the top is a climb - But some short steep climbs all add up i suppose

I see you can also download off Trailforks

I also just realized if i zoom into my ride map on strava it shows all the trails - I wonder if they reflect on the map in my Garmin head unit while i'm riding - I read on DC Rainmaker somewhere that Garmin use Trailforks overlay on their maps - I'll have to try next time i ride there or at modders

I did the Garmin MTB race there last week, we started outside across the road from the Big Red Barn entrance, does anyone know if those trails across the road are part of the big red barn track or public trails?

Thx

Across the road aren't part of BRB. If you want to do those go in a group

As Dieter indicated... steer clear of the areas across the road if you are solo...

Those trails also go onto private land in some places, farmer doesn't seem to mind but best to speak to the red barn guys to see if it's okay to ride there. There are some cut trails around the quary dam, but like mentioned above i wouldn't ride there alone

just a heads up as well, if you're on the main dirt road just after where the trails start, there's a private residence on the left up the road, there's a medium sized brown dog that runs around loose, haven't encountered him on weekends but the other day during the week he came running after me and i opted to slow down but not stop, he gave up and then came at me again, but fortunately no issues.

i did give a heads up to BRB as it would be super dangerous especially with the number of trail runners and kids around.
