Is it metal fatigue or paint damage?

Hi guys

I cant put a picture up but ill explain it, i have a dual sus and around the screws which connect the shock to the frame there are weird jaggered rings around the bolt, what could it be?

Has there been any friction between the bolts and whatever is around it?

That looks like a Trek Superfly 100, the rings are threaded Alu inserts that are bonded into the carbon rocker link. 

 

They are jagged because it adds surface area for the bonding...

 

No need to worry here.

I second the Trek but I'm sure I can see some welds there so it might be a Alu frame.
