Hi people

I'm about to cough up close to R14 000 for this trainer and was hoping some hubbers could give me some reviews? and possibly know of where or when it will be on special soon. Its R13 995 at EvoBikes at the moment

Also what do you think of the reports of the first batch of these burning out/ failing...has this been fixed?

Many thanks

Damn - they were going for R10K on the CWC sale! I would assume any failure would be replaced under gaurentee? There's a host of reviews online from various sources - including YouTube - have a look there as well.

According to DC rainmaker and Shane Miller (youtube) the issue has been fixed.

got mine from CWC in May, no hassles with mine so far.

just a heads up, you need zwift/trainer road or something to use it, the tacx app sucks and the software is crazy expensive

Alternatively, Wahoo Kickrs pop up from time to time on the hub for between R12k - R16k.

I haven't ridden either (maybe one day when I can afford one), but from what I can understand, the Kickr is a better option?

shipping will be substantial due to product weight

Bike24's shipping is 19.95 Euro on it. (Just checked)

That's 575 Euro Including shipping. R8580

VAT on it @15.4% . R 1 321.32

Total cost landed to your door/Post office in 14 Days = R9901

I got one at the CWC sale.  I had to wait until after payday to buy it, which was more than a week into their sale.  I was concerned they would be sold out so I phoned CWC to try reserve one.  Turns out they had 50 units of the Flux (and a whole bunch of the Neo etc).  So what I'm getting at is that they have sold 50 units in the last month, and from what I can see, there haven't been any major flare up reports on the Hub about dodgy units.  So, I think you can assume the initial quality issues are sorted out...

In terms of the trainer itself:  I don't have anything to compare it to, but from a personal point of view I can't fault it.  Does what it says on the tin...

I also agree with Varkhart - Tacx software isn't the best out there.  But that is also true of Wahoo and Cyclops - so whatever brand you go for you will probably be looking at different software...

I bought one on the CWC sale and I have no issues at all thus far. Really enjoying it, definitely helping the structured training in terms of holding power in ERG

Great info thanks!

CWC are out of stock at the moment, and not sure of pricing of new stock.

CoolHeat the suppliers also have no stock

The new Elite Direto seem good, but only coming out late August, and at R14 995

Winter might be over by the time I can get mine
