I've done a few big road rides from PMB through Notties, Kamberg, Giants Castle, Mooi River and back with out issue. Also done Homeward bound a few years ago from Champagne Valley though the back dirt roads to PMB and all has been fine.

If I'm honest you probably safer staying away from the built up areas "townships, informal housing."

When are you planning to do this as I might be able to get a group together?

Could not have explained it better to those who do not understand!  Thanks

We did a three day tour in the Berg during December and got as close as White Mountain Lodge to Giants Castle on a ride from Wagendrift dam at Escort to Winterton via White Mountain, Draycott and Thokozisa.

No worries there or between Ladysmith and Escort or Back from Winterton.

Dogs. Look out for dogs. Got chased once in Ligetton and again on the Lions river road on Tuesday. I hear they like the salty taste of the okes from Durban.

I would also be keen to join you for a stretch of the way. When you coming through.

Thanks for this bit of info so I might have to wear my full piece lycra so I look like a Joburg cyclist and the hounds may give me a miss?

Leaving Monday, no plans, no route.
